Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional medical\nwriting system<\/strong> (PMWS) comprises of skilled writers with scientific\nknowledge, who can improve the standards of a clinical trial report. PMWS\npositively improve the quality of a clinical trial report and the timeline of\nthe publication.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authors worldwide prefer skilled medical writers to\nprepare clinical report. Medical Writer is an expert in developing an effective\ndocument that clearly defines research results and product usage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A study was conducted recently to evaluate the connection\nbetween the PMWS and the quality, ethics, and the timeliness of publication\nreporting clinical researches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Methodology <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A systemic literature review was done to identify published\nstudies regarding medical writing. The search strategy included several terms\nrelated to medical writing and communication. Additionally, the search strategy\nalso included terms, such as observational, cross-sectional or epidemiological\nstudies, without any limits on a date, language or country.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstract, posters from meetings of the International society\nfor medical publications professional and the bibliographies of studies noticed\nin the electronic searches were also reviewed to determine additional relevant\nreferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the 2009 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic\nReviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines the identified studies were\nscreened against inclusion and exclusion criteria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, 97 relevant studies were identified after excluding\n89 studies during screening and full paper review. In the remaining eight\nstudies, a comparison was made between 849 publications with PMWS and 2073\narticles without PMWS.  Increased\ncompliance to the Consolidated Standards of Reporting <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trials (CONSORT) guidelines, publication in journals with an\nimpact factor, excellent quality of language, and a very less reporting of\nnon-pre-specified outcomes was seen in the articles developed with PMWS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study concluded that the clinical and academic\nprofessionals seek the support of PMWS to ensure the ethics, accuracy, and\ntimely publication of the clinical studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
